Why do you think the author writes the dedication page the way he does?
It is actually a child's book and he dedicated it to a grown up because he wanted to give a smile and comfort.
Everyone used to be a child once. He didn't want anyone to feel bad. The children would think it was strange that this was a children's story but the author was writing it for a grown up.
